Hello, friends! I'm Alyssa, the heart and hands behind Salt Creek Silver. Whether you’ve just stumbled upon my little corner of the web or you’re a loyal follower who’s been with me from the start, I’m so glad you’re here. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share the story behind Salt Creek Silver, a brand that’s near and dear to my soul.

A Little About Me

The inspiration behind Salt Creek Silver runs deep in my roots, spanning generations of strong women who shaped my path. My journey into the world of jewelry-making began with the influence of my mother and grandmother. My grandmother owned a consignment shop and her volumes of 1960-70s costume jewelry found its way into my early jewelry collection.   My mother, she treated herself to new jewelry anytime she had a big milestone to celebrate or during her travels to have a keepsake. These two women whose love for jewelry left an indelible mark on me.

Years ago, I made one of my first large leaps in life. I made the bold move to the Southwest, where I embraced the rugged beauty of the desert and found myself living off-grid, immersed in the untamed spirit of the Wild West.  To the east coast girly that I am, this was a world unknown and ready for exploration. At the time, I was in the field of architecture.  Going from repurposing city buildings to building off-grid homes was quite the transition. Yet, it was here that I felt truly at home, surrounded by the landscapes that continue to inspire my work. This is where my love for turquoise and sterling silver blossomed, as I began to see the deep, spiritual significance these materials hold.

A few year later, I decided I needed something more than what my office job could give me; I was craving creativity.  After dipping my toe into jewelry making, I had the incredible opportunity to learn metalsmithing under the mentorship of Greg Koschital. Located just outside of Yellowstone National Park in Cody, Wyoming, sitting and watching Greg work was an experience that transformed my approach to jewelry-making. Greg's expertise and passion for the craft taught me not just the technical skills, but also the importance of creating with intention, quality, and solid, heavy metal!

Salt Creek Silver is a reflection of the values that I hold close: quality, connection, and a soul-driven approach to life. Every piece of jewelry I create is handcrafted with these values in mind.

• Quality: I believe in creating jewelry that stands the test of time. My pieces are meticulously crafted with attention to detail, using high-quality sterling silver and handpicked turquoise and other gemstones. Each piece is designed to be equally beautiful, comfortable, and durable, something you can cherish for years to come.

• Connection: At Salt Creek Silver, connection is at the core of everything I do. It's that spark that fills my cup. Whether it’s the connection between the earth and the materials I use, the connection I feel while creating each piece, or the connection that jewelry brings between the wearer and their own story, it’s all about meaningful, soulful connections.  The most fulfilling connection I receive from Salt Creek Silver is the connection to my clients and their stories. 

• Soul-Driven: Salt Creek Silver is more than just jewelry; it’s a celebration of living a life that’s true to your soul. Life is for living, to the beat of your own drum. It's brave to take leaps in life that your soul is leading you to. The moves you take may be against the status quo and may feel out of your comfort zone, but it's right direction for you. I encourage you to live life by your own design, choosing your path from the place you live, the people you love, to the job you do, and the jewelry you wear.

Salt Creek Silver isn’t just a business to me; it’s a way to connect with others on a deeper level. I’ve always believed that jewelry is more than just adornment—it’s a reflection of who we are, what we value, and the stories we carry with us. My hope is that when you wear a piece from Salt Creek Silver, you feel a sense of connection—to yourself and to the journey you’re on.

My mission is to inspire others to live soul-driven lives, to embrace their unique paths, and to celebrate the beauty in their own stories.
